Luna was one of the lucky ones.

Luna as a puppy, resting her head on a cream bed and looking up with big worried eyes.

Luna is my best friend's dog.

He adopted her as a young puppy from the Humane Society. She had a huge heart. Playful. A happy soul. But her first day home, alone, she was scared. She shook and cried.

I looked at her and saw "a sweet, innocent loving soul without anyone to care or love for her." And I could tell this happens to more dogs than we can imagine. They sit in shelters where only a handful of locals might ever walk in to adopt.

Luna got lucky. A lot of dogs never do.

Luna fast asleep in her dog bed, hugging a stuffed monkey.

That is when it clicked for me. What if giving to animals could be fully transparent, with every gift accounted for? In my words at the time: "NO MIDDLE MEN, no bs, simply mercy for animals that need it most."

Then I thought about who else is waiting. Children and families doing everything right and still coming up short. Dogs who waited too long for anyone to choose them. Both deserve someone who shows up. That is the heart of what we are building.

From there it grew into program ideas to ease the suffering of dogs and to lift children and families out of hard places. Two of them are our seed programs today. Each one is designed so that helping one soul helps another. The way I say it: we are 1, we are all. A snowball that never stops.

Here is where things honestly stand today. Shiba Humanity Hub is incorporated in Canada. Our application for charity registration is with the CRA. We can't issue receipts until we are registered. Our two v1 test tokens are retired and are not the charity; they are listed on our official contracts page. The charity rails that would move money to real programs are still being built. No program is delivering care yet. When one is, we will show you the proof, not just tell you about it.

If you have ever watched a scared dog shake on a new floor, you already know why this matters.

Luna today, all grown up, lying on the carpet and looking at the camera. — Luna today.
