A place to say thank you properly

This page is for people and businesses who give. The shelters, schools and family programs in our plans are never called sponsors, and we never ask them for money. You'll find them on Who we help.

No one has given yet, because giving isn't open. When it opens, this page will thank the people and businesses who give, by name only if they choose. We built the page first because we want to get the thank-you right.

Truth right now: Giving isn't open yet. Our application for charity registration is with the CRA. Until CRA approves us, we can't issue receipts, and we won't accept money dressed up as a donation. Our tokens are separate from the charity and are never a gift; see Official contracts.

Tell me when giving opens

Donor thank-you tiers (givers only)

Tiers are for people who give. Places we help are never placed in a tier. Recognition is a name on the wall if you choose, not bigger type for bigger cheques. Dollar thresholds will be set before giving opens.

Porch Light: anyone who gives, any amount. "We leave the light on for everyone who helps."

Warm Bowl: monthly givers. "The steady ones. Every month, a full bowl."

Open Door: larger annual gifts. "You opened a door that was shut."

Hearth: major annual gifts. "The warm centre a whole program gathers around."

Lighthouse: landmark or multi-year commitments. "You helped us see far enough to plan."

Special recognitions

First Light: everyone who gives in the first 12 months after receipted giving opens.
Paw Prints: gifts in memory or in honour (only if the family chooses how it appears).
Kindred: hands that helped with goods or professional time.

Business sponsors (always labelled Sponsors)

Good Neighbour: a local business sponsoring one event or need.
Cornerstone: a business sponsoring a whole seed program for a year.

A sponsor's logo never appears in "the places we're here for" band or on Who we help.

The donor wall

No names here yet. The first ones will be the ones who believed before it was easy.

Opt-in only. Anonymous is the default. No amounts on the wall. Order alphabetical within each section. Questions about your recognition? Contact us.

Holding is never listed as giving

Holding a token is never listed here. Token holding is not a giving tier, and it never appears on this wall. On-chain supporters, if ever listed after rails and counsel, appear only if they claim a wallet and opt in.

FAQ

Can I give today? Not yet. See the truth box.

Will I get an official donation receipt? Only after CRA approves us, and only for gifts that qualify. Business sponsorships with logo recognition generally don't get receipts.

Is holding $NIBBLES or $hopeseed a donation? No. It isn't a donation and it can't be receipted.

Why no amounts on the wall? Because every gift matters, whatever its size.

Can I give in memory of my dog? Yes, once giving opens. Paw Prints exists for exactly that.

Can I stay anonymous? Anonymous is the default.
